From this totally self-sufficient, off-grid base, located 1,200-kilometres north of Perth, the Raytheon Australia team provides space surveillance operations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Invested in precinct capability

Raytheon Australia has transformed the HEH precinct – from humble beginnings in 2012 upgrading and maintaining the facility – to now working as a trusted capability partner with Defence to support mission critical systems, operations, engineering, maintenance and base support services.
We provide operations and maintenance support for the C-Band Radar, the first dedicated southern hemisphere low-earth orbit sensor in the collaborative Space Surveillance Network – a worldwide network of telescopes and radars that detect, track, identify and catalogue man-made objects in space.
Raytheon Australia also supports the Exmouth-based Space Surveillance Telescope, a 360-degree telescope that tracks and identifies objects and threats in space, predicting and avoiding potential collisions.
Invested in the future

We have partnered closely with Defence over the past decade to ensure that the HEH capability is ready to support Australia’s submarine upgrades.
Our world-class team in Exmouth is ready to play our part in naval communications support for the next 50 years.
We are ensuring the Exmouth workforce and HEH capability are ready to support the ADF’s future requirements.
Raytheon Australia serves as the capability partner for Defence at the HEH precinct, where the Space Surveillance Telescope facility was commissioned in late 2022. This facility enables Exmouth to provide greater levels of space awareness for Australia and the US, creating a pipeline of space careers in the region.
Invested in the community

Over the past decade, Raytheon Australia has become a genuine part of the community. For our defence customers, our efforts in the region have delivered significant cost efficiencies and safety improvements. We have also generated dozens of educational opportunities, provided work for local businesses, sustained more than 120 local jobs as part of Raytheon Australia.
Our investment extends well beyond the delivery of great outcomes for the precinct. We are heavily invested in the whole community, from training volunteer firefighters to plant rehabilitation, as well as great partnerships with organisations such as the local Marine Rescue and the Chamber of Commerce.
Our employees tell us that they choose to work at Raytheon Australia because they can contribute to the critical outcomes of the Australian Defence Force, belong to an inspiring team, enjoy job satisfaction and great benefits all whilst growing professionally from the company’s tailored investment in their future.
Being part of the team in Exmouth, you will have the opportunity to work on the most advanced technology in the sector and have an amazing work-life balance, surrounded by Western Australia’s national parks and famous Ningaloo Reef.
We do great work and it’s great to work here.
