Invested in Exmouth

Frank started with Raytheon Australia as an Antenna Maintenance Supervisor in 2019. Now, as the Precinct Program Manager, he leads our team of expert technicians, working to maintain three distinct capabilities: the Very Low Frequency towers, the C-Band Radar and the Space Surveillance Telescope. Frank says: “Raytheon Australia is supporting critical defence operations that are happening right here in Exmouth, investing in talent and developing specialist roles and capabilities."

Rita has been contributing to the critical outcomes of Defence for almost a year. She’s lived in Exmouth for over 2 years and says: “It’s great to work here because it’s a location that complements my outdoor hobbies and lifestyle. For the past three years Rob has been contributing to the critical outcomes of Defence. He started with Raytheon Australia as a diesel mechanic – now he’s undergoing an electrical apprenticeship. Rob says:  “Raytheon Australia has invested in me by giving me the opportunity to complete dual trades. I started my electrical apprenticeship this year and once I’ve completed it, I’ll be able to undertake a broader scope of work with a greater understanding on how to maintain our capabilities."

For the past 3 years Sarah has been contributing to the critical outcomes of Defence. She joined Raytheon Australia in 2020 as a Maintenance Officer – now she’s the Emergency Management Senior Supervisor. She says: “Myself, my husband and our three children moved to Exmouth from Tasmania in 2009, with the intention of spending a year. We felt an instant connection with Exmouth and the wonderful community… 14 years on and we’re still here!"

"Outside of work, myself and my team are all volunteers at the local Exmouth Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service. Raytheon Australia supports us and the community by allowing members to attend call outs and training sessions. As my role with Raytheon Australia has evolved, I’ve developed a keen interested in Disaster Management. I am currently completing my Diploma in Public Safety (Emergency Management) and Raytheon Australia has supported me in that too"

Kieran has been contributing to the critical outcomes of Defence for 8 years. He started with Raytheon Australia as a C-Band Radar support technician – now he’s the Space Surveillance Telescope Supervisor. Kieran says: “Raytheon Australia's investment in my professional development has been instrumental in my career progression. From leadership courses to my enrolment in the PM academy, the company has consistently provided me with growth opportunities. For over a decade Danni has been contributing to critical outcomes of Defence. Having lived in Exmouth her whole life Danni says: “Exmouth is like a world of its own. We’re a very tight knit community, and likewise at work, so it makes for a very homely and peaceful oasis."

'When the US military presence withdrew from Exmouth in the early 90s, we seemed to lose that exciting atmosphere that was essentially the foundation of our community. The introduction of the C-Band Radar and Space Surveillance Telescope, alongside our Very Low Frequency Towers, paired with a growing workforce, has reignited that energy in our community."

As one of Raytheon Australia’s newer employees, Terry has been contributing to critical Defence outcomes for almost a year.  Having moved to Exmouth with his family in 2022, Terry says: “At HEH there are so many opportunities to progress your career. Typically these chances are only available in major cities, but I get to work in a role that I love and live in a small-town on the Ningaloo Reef – I don’t think this combination exists anywhere else in Australia."

Rachel has been contributing to the critical outcomes of Defence for over a year.
