Raytheon Australia awarded $277M contract to continue as Australia’s Collins Class submarine combat system manager
Long-term partnership to continue delivering combat system upgrades
INDOPAC, SYDNEY New South Wales (4 November 2025) – Raytheon Australia, part of RTX’s (NYSE: RTX) Raytheon business, has signed a $277 million contract extension to continue managing the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarine combat system.
The extension allows Raytheon Australia’s 150-member team, and its local and international industry partners like General Dynamics – Mission Systems, to continue delivering critical combat system capabilities with the Royal Australian Navy. It also supports a robust training pipeline for engineers and technicians as the Navy integrates new capabilities.
“This contract extension reinforces Raytheon Australia’s 25 years of expertise as the Collins Class submarine combat system partner,” said Ohad Katz, managing director of Raytheon Australia. “As Australia’s Collins Class submarine combat system manager, we remain committed to supporting the Royal Australian Navy and industry partners in delivering this vital capability for Australia’s defence.”
Raytheon Australia’s submarine combat system team has supported the Collins Class submarines since their introduction in the mid-1990s. The team operates mainly from Perth’s Henderson Shipyard and HMAS Stirling, with additional services provided from Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide and Raytheon Australia offices in Sydney. Core elements of the Combat System Management Framework contract include combat system integration and manager services, architecture and design, upgrades and updates, implementation and coordination of the AN/BYG-1 system, wharf-side and deployable technical support, and procurement, warehousing and freight services.
